Legalisation of casinos in Japan delayed

Japan has been working on the project to legalise casinos for some time now, as we reported in this article, and this other post.
It was expected that the law would be passed quickly, allowing operators to start building facilities for the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.
However, last week supporters of the measure failed to hand in their text to the agenda of the Parliament.
The legislators now believe that the project will not be discussed in the current parliamentary session, which will minimise its chances of the casinos being opened in time for the Olympics.
They will now have to wait for the next parliamentary assembly which is scheduled for autumn, but even that one might not be able to put discussing the text on the agenda.
Most observers believe that the proposal for the legalisation of casinos in Japan will not be considered until 2015.
Such a delay may not allow enough time for operators to build their facilities in time for the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.
