The market in Singapore is now recording a decline in revenue of VIP players in the same way as the market of casinos in Macau.
The Marina Bay Sands has even dropped to their lowest level since 2010 in this sector in the last quarter.
The situation is similar for their competitor, the Genting Singapore, whose revenues have reached the lowest level in four years.

A decrease in turnover of 5% for the Marina Bay Sands

The Las Vegas Sands Group has confirmed that their sales in Singapore went down 5%.
This decrease can be explained by the dramatic drop of 34% in the industry of VIPs compared against the strong results in the sector of regular players and related activities to gambling.
As in Macau as well, this regression on the VIP market can be explained by the anti-corruption campaign that currently happening in China.

A decrease of 2.8% for shares of Genting Singapore

In the last quarter, share values of Genting Singapore fell 2.8% to US $1.06.
Again, this decrease is due to the poor results in the sector of VIP players who recorded the lowest level since June 2010.
In a note to the investors, the consulting firm Macquarie Research said that this decline in volume of VIP players in the third quarter could send panic signals to the market.
Even worse, he believes that the declining profits of the establishment are still only at half of what is expected.
Accordingly, investors should now lower their expectations for the gambling market in Singapore.

A situation in perspective

Whatever happens, there is still time to minimise the catastrophic results of the VIP market in Singapore.
In fact, the other activities aside from gambling and the sector of regular players still continue to grow.
Because of this, the results of both establishments in the city-state were not particularly disturbing. They are only reduced by a few per cent at the moment.
Additionally, it is important to note that the anti-corruption campaign should be ending soon in China, which should allow VIP to increase the revenue in Macau as well as Singapore again.
The experts are not really worried about the future market situation.
