Built in 1955, the Moulin Rouge Las Vegas stands out as a historic property.
In fact, it was the first hotel-casino in the country!
It was closed in 1997, and will open its doors on June 11 for 8 hours only.
On the occasion of the day, 16 slot machines will be installed in the casino.
The hotel was built in the city centre, not on the Strip, and it has suffered major damages since its closure.
It was partially destroyed by two fires in 2003 and 2009.
The owners however, want to keep the rights to their assets.
The state of Nevada requires that a casino is operated at least 8 hours every two years, in order to keep the gaming license.
In 1992, five years before its closure, the Moulin Rouge was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
It was purchased for $5 million by Olympic Coast Investment in 2009.
