The regulatory authority for gambling in the state of New Jersey has just published the results for the month of August.
Thanks to the online gambling sector they recorded a slight increase compared to the same period of last year.
In fact, all brick and mortar casinos in Atlantic City together have earned $294.5 million in revenue in August, plus an additional $10.5 million from online gambling, a source of revenue that did not exist in the same period last year.
The combined total reached $305 million, representing an increase of 2.3% in comparison to last year.
The revenues from the land-based casinos are only down 1.2%.
We will talk about the results of each casino in the city in more detail in the rest of this article.

The market leaders

The Borgata casino is the establishment that recorded the best performance with revenues reaching $66 million, which stand against $62.5 million in August 2013 and $60 million in July.
Caesars of Atlantic City is positioned in the second place of the eleven casinos that are still operating in the iconic city.
They recorded revenues of just under $44 million, which stand against $38 million in August 2013 and $28 million in July.

The casinos with difficulties

The Showboat, which closed its doors on August 31 generated revenues of $15 million in the last month of operation.
July’s performance was similar, but they made about $600,000 more than in August 2013.
The Revel, which closed its doors on the 2nd of September earned about $12 million last month which stands against $20 million in August 2013 and $15 million in July.
The Trump Plaza, which closed its doors on the 16th of September generated just under $5 million in comparison to $9 million in August 2013 and $5.4 million in July.
The Trump Taj Mahal might have close its doors in November after generating $25 million in revenues, which is about $1.5 million less than in August 2013 and $3 million more than last July.

The other establishments

Let us also look at the last five casinos is Atlantic City.
The Resorts has made $14.9 million, the Golden Nugget $16.8 million, Bally $25.7 million, Tropicana $31,3 million and Harrah $38.9 million.
